19 original Tamil bhajans (தமிழ் பக்தி பாடல்கள்) composed by RG Madanagopal — with full Tamil lyrics, English transliteration, verse-by-verse meaning, and video recordings of each song.
About this collection
Tamil Bhajan is a tribute archive of original Tamil devotional songs (தமிழ் பக்தி பாடல்கள்) by RG Madanagopal (இரா.கோ.மதன்கோபால்). The collection spans the three great Tamil devotional traditions — Shaiva bhakti to Lord Shiva (Thiru Neelakandar, Nataraja of Thillai), Muruga bhakti across the six sacred abodes of the Arupadai Veedu, and Amman bhakti to the Mother Goddess in her many Tamil forms — from the classical Ananda Valli to the village Mother of Uthirapatti and the fierce Udukkai-bearing Kali.
Every song page presents the full Tamil lyrics in Tamil script, a clean English transliteration, an English meaning, the story behind the song, and an embedded video recording. The collection includes specific temple-rooted compositions such as the Kamatchi Amman of Thevadanapatti by the Manjal Aaru (turmeric river), the threefold Sakti of Uthirapatti, and tributes to Tamil bhakti scriptures like the Kandhar Anubhuti of Saint Arunagirinathar.

About the Composer — RG Madanagopal
இரா.கோ.மதன்கோபால் — தமிழ் பக்தி பாடலாசிரியர்
RG Madanagopal (இரா.கோ.மதன்கோபால்) is a Tamil devotional songwriter whose original compositions range across the great Tamil devotional traditions — Shaiva songs to Thiru Neelakandar and Nataraja of Thillai, Murugan songs tracing the six Arupadai Veedu abodes, Amman songs rooted in local temples of Uthirapatti, Thevadanapatti, and Poigai Malai, and folk-traditional kiramiya Amman songs. His songs combine classical Tamil vocabulary, the rhythmic pulse of traditional bhajans, and a deeply personal bhakti voice.
Each composition draws from classical Tamil vocabulary, the rhythmic pulse of traditional Carnatic and folk bhajans, and a deeply personal bhakti voice. The songs reference specific temples — Uthirapatti (Aadi Sakti near Poigai Malai), Thevadanapatti (Kamatchi Amman by the Manjal Aaru), Thillai / Chidambaram (Nataraja), and the six Arupadai Veedu of Lord Murugan — along with the saint composers Arunagirinathar (Kandhar Anubhuti) and the Panchakshara mantra tradition.
